Review: American Girl Lea Clark

For my birthday, I recived a very special present from my Mom and Dad. It was Lea! You do not know how excited DollBaker24 and I were when we opened her. Lea is gorgeous, and I'm so grateful to have her. Today, I'm going to be sharing a review of her with ya'll. Enjoy!

Lea is priced at $120 and arrives in a colorful tribal-print dress with turquoise sandals. She also comes with an adorable messenger bag, compass, and the "Lea Dives In" book.

Lea is definitely a unique doll. She is the first American Girl doll to have arched eyebrows. :) She has fair skin with peachy lips and hazel/amber eyes. In the AG stock photo, her eyes looked very yellow and amber-ish. Now, they look more similar to Maryellen's and Lanie's. (An eye comparison is coming soon!) I had a crooked eye problem with my first Lea doll, so I decided to send her back and American Girl mailed us another doll for free! At first I thought it was just something wrong with my doll, but then I heard that other people have had eye problems with thier Leas'.

Surprisingly, Lea doesn't have neck strings. America Girl has confirmed that all of their new dolls will have zip ties to hold their heads in place from now on. Lots of people were upset about this, and I have to admit that this isn't my favorite thing. DollBaker24 and my Lea both have soft bodies and their heads can move easily. I do, however, like the fact the the zip ties aren't visible.

Lea's hair is probably my favorite feature of hers! It's a nice caramel color with blonde highlights. I think it looks very unqiue, and I was excited that her hair color was the exact same colr as mine! Seriously, I held a peice up to my hair and you couldn't tell a difference! :P

Her hair is layered and silky. I don't actually know if Lea's hair is supposed to be wavy or curly. In the magazine pictures, it looks curly, so I made up a special way to curl it. :)

Lea comes with two extra items (A Compass and Messenger Bag), unlike Grace who only came with her charm bracelet. The compass is a bronze color with Lea's flower deisgn inside. In her first book, it says that the compass is given to Lea by her grandma, Ama. The arrow inside actually moves! I thought that was kinda neat. :)

The compass does not have a clasp. It uses a sliding knot thing, but it was hard for me to take on and off of Lea.

I LOVE the messenger bag! It's very sturdy.

It Velcros where the pink straps are, and Lea's flower design is printed on it, too.

There is also embroidery on the strap of the bag.

Next, we have Lea's dress. I absolutely love it! It's so bright and colorful. It reminds me of something an aritist would wear. ;)

Two braided cords are on the front of the dress.

They do not go all they way around, and the fabric does not meet in the excact sam places. I was a little dissapointed by that, but it's not really noticeable.

Lea's tag is on the left side of the dress.

The velcro in the back doesn't go down as long as most American Girl dresses, but that's okay. ;)

The braided shoulder straps are one of my favorite things about the dress! It gives it a summery and tropical look, which is perfect for Lea and her collection.

The shoes are so cute! They are made of a patterned blue material and a pink/yellow stretchy string.

The shoes also velcro in the back. I think it's a little unessecary- I can slip the sandals on and off without even un-velcroing them.

Overall, I just adore Lea! She has so many different features, and I think she's definitely worth the money. I'm so grateful to have her, and thank-you to my Mom and Dad for such a wonderful birthday gift! :) I rate Lea 5 out of 5 stars!

If you have any questions about Lea, I'd be happy to answer them! You can leave a comment on this post or email me using the form on my contact page or at americangirldollcrafter@gmail.com.

Here are some bonus photos! :)

I don't know why, but I just love this picture so much! :P

Thanks for reading! Lea's profile is coming to the Meet The Dolls section soon!

P.S. I know I haven't posted in a while, and I'm very sorry. I've been super busy with school, and when I finally had a few mintutes free, my blog post editor wouldn't work. :( It's been like that for two days now, but we got the issue fixed, and things are back to normal. :)
