Sewing: My First High-Low Skirt

Hi everyone! I've been sewing recently, and I'd thought I'd show you one of my finished skirts. I made this about a week ago using American Girl's high low skirt pattern.

At first, I didn't like how this turned out at all. In fact, I had to cut the hem and re-sew it because I had totally missed the edge of the fabric. :P Yeah... I thought it would look prettier, but I sure did learn my lesson! Thankfully, I practiced and found a method that makes the hem look pretty and straight. :)

The back of it doesn't look that bad, but I'm hoping to improve.

Lea looks beautiful in this outfit! The skirt can go with many shirts and accessories.

Here are some bonus photos. ;)

So far, I have made 2 drawstring dresses, 2 maxi skirts, 2 high low skirts (counting this one), and another skirt is half way done. I'm hoping to sell it in Doll Days Doodles, but we'll just have to see how it turns out.

Also, I've been making... er, writing something special for this summer. I don't want to give too much away since it's a surprise, but I will tell you that it is a photostory. A photostory series, that is! I really wanted to do something cool for summertime, and I've noticed that my blog seems to be lacking stories, so stay tuned! :)
