American Girl Throwback Thursday
We've loved our American Girl dolls for a very long time, and I mean it when I say a long time! It all started back in 2009 when I received my first American Girl Doll, Kaya. (Not to mention that my sisters also shared in the love of dolls!) DollBaker24 and DollPandaLover both received Molly that year as well. Since then, our dolls have been on many adventures and made lots of memories- from tea parties to imaginary adventures, they did it all with us.
I came across a file full of old photos yesterday, and upon opening it, I rediscovered some hilarious pictures that the held memories and fun times we had during the early years with our American Girl dolls! 😛 Since today is what many call "Throwback Thursday", I thought it was the perfect time to share these funny photos with my readers. I will admit, I was almost too embarrassed to actually post this... We didn't know how to properly care for our 18 inch friends back then! 😜 But I think you will find them as funny and humorous as I did.
Let the flashback begin!
Okay, I'm thinking this was our very first time at the American Girl Store. We had never been to one before, and in fact, we didn't know they existed for a while. (LOL!) Pre-Beforever Felicity and Elizabeth were near retirement, and judging by the Inner Star U sign on the door, this photo was most likely taken around 2011. My sisters and I always matched when we were little- most people assumed we were triplets! 😛
In this picture, DollBaker24 poses with her first-ever doll, Molly McIntire. She is so little here! Aw! 😊
Next DollPandaLover is grinning proudly with her cupcake and browines. Look at that adorable little grin! 😉
... and this is me. 😝 Wow, I'm missing so many teeth! Ha ha! Kit is right beside me, too. She was one of my favorite dolls at the time. ❤️
I remember this day very well. My sisters and I had finished watching Molly's movie for the very first time, and we felt inspired to try out our own tap dancing skills! 😂 DollBaker24 grabbed Molly and Emily, and I held an American Flag while we paraded around the room. It was quite the show! 😉
You've probably know by now that DollBaker24 was obsessed with Molly when she was little, just as I adored Kit. She and DollPandaLover even had matching pajamas! 😊 These photos are a bit blurry, and I'm assuming that I was behind the camera taking this shot. My love for photography started early! 😂
Twinning is winning! ✨ Although DollBaker24 isn't so sure... 😂
I can't help but laugh every time I see this photo! 😝 DollBaker24 says she doesn't remember what she was doing here... possibly making a funny face, or trying to express her love for Molly? Who knows! 😂
Before we were ready for American Girl Dolls, our Mom let us play with Our Generation dolls and Bitty Babies. My poor OG Doll! She looks like she is having a rough time. 😛 But I did grow up with only two brothers for the first few years of my life, so you've got give me some credit there. 😂 Before Molly arrived, DollBaker24 had a Bitty Baby named Caroline. She loved her to pieces! 😍 Literally- what is she doing to her eye? 😂
DollBaker24 has loved babies and little kids all her life, and Caroline was no different! She would take her on walks in the stroller, dress and feed her, and even pretend to rock her to sleep. 😊
She looks like a true little Mommy! 😊 So cute... ❤️
As you can see, we have loved our American Girl Dolls and Bitty Babies ever since we were tiny, little girls! It's fun to look back and reflect on fun memories, and it was especially fun to share these memories with all of you! 🤗 ❤️
To end, here's a look at all our traditional photos in front of the American Girl Atlanta Store. 😉
... and now! 😄 We sure have changed a lot, haven't we? 😉
Thank you for joining me on today's Throwback Thursday post! I hope you enjoyed viewing the pictures of us with our dolls over the years, and I want to challenge YOU to share some of your TBT American Girl Adventures! Tell us your favorite memory you've made with your doll in the comments below. 😉
